Name and Number: Antonio Fernandez Carriedo, # 722
Nation: Spain
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Year: Senior
Birthday: February 12
Team: Red
Personality: Antonio is best described as cheerful and easygoing, with a large mischievous streak. His laid-back attitude and friendly nature make him a pleasant person to be around, as it takes a lot for him to lose his temper. He is extremely competitive, especially when it comes to athletics and the red/blue war. This competitiveness didn't make its way to his academics, however, and he tends to slack when it comes to his grades.
He is quick to fawn over anything or anyone that he finds cute, and is a shameless flirt. He is also openly affectionate, quick to give a friendly hug or a kiss. Because of this, he can make others uncomfortable with his lack of personal space.
History: Antonio was born to a wealthy family, with both of his parents heavily involved in keeping vineyards and wine making. Because his parents were usually very busy, he became more attached to his nanny. He was a restless boy, preferring to be out in the fields playing football than stuck at a desk doing mathematics. Although his parents tried everything to inspire Antonio to excel academically, he was never more than a mediocre student.
Therefore, it wasn't the academic prestige that lured Antonio into applying to the school, but rather the mystery behind its motives. His parents were just happy that he was interested in going to school anywhere, and would provide any financial assistance he needed. Antonio was more than happy to continue his studies as he began to see what they were being trained for. In fact, his grades may even be improving over time.
He was less than happy to discover that his cousin Afonso was admitted shortly after his second year. The two have never really gotten along, but Antonio can't really remember the source of their rivalry. He avoids having to interact with Afonso as much as possible, but he swears the younger boy really likes pushing his buttons. It also doesn't help that the two have the same great love for football.
School Identity: Antonio is in his final year at the academy. He's heavily involved in the fencing club as well as the football team. Because these activities take up most of his free time, he is one of the best athletes enrolled. He tried his hand at cooking club as a 2nd year, but found that he lacked the creativity to make dishes with ingredients other than tomatoes.
Skills: Although Antonio doesn't care much for book learning, he does have an affinity for language. He is at least proficient in all of the major languages of his country - Spanish, Catalan, Basque, and Galician. He is also a moderately skilled matador.
RP Sample: Antonio entered the auditorium laughing and smiling, clearly more caught up in having conversations with his peers than trying to make a single filed line. As he made his way through the aisles, he jostled his friend playfully, nearly knocking the poor boy over. This made Antonio snicker, and he was still smiling even as he received a punch to the shoulder.
Reluctantly, he took a seat. He was glad for any excuse to leave class early, that was for sure, but it was just trading one boring thing for another. The conversation with the people immediately around him didn't stop, and it was only until the principal cleared his throat that he lowered his voice to a whisper and leaned back into his seat.
Antonio was just about to catch up on his sleep debt when the word "competition" made him sit upright. He leaned forward slightly, now taking the principal's every single word. He grew more and more interested by the second. A competition among the students? Finally, the school was doing something interesting! He smiled in anticipation, the wheels in his mind already turning.
There was no question in his mind as to which team he would join. He noticed that the blue team was receiving a larger amount of students. No matter. He liked a challenge. Antonio waited patiently for the principal to call for him.
"Portugal. Number 253."
"I'll be on Team Blue from now on! Let's all fight towards victory!"
Figures, Antonio thought. Well, this all just worked out perfectly didn't it?
"Male. Spain. Number 722."
At the mention of his name, Antonio stood and rushed towards the stage, nearly breaking out into a run. The Spaniard was excited about this!
"I will be joining the Red Team!" He said, nodding emphatically. He hopped off the stage and headed back towards his seat, eyeing the sea of faces, many of which still had no team. Would the red team be small and have to work twice as hard, or would they catch up? Either way, Antonio was looking forward to the school year.
Other: Uhhh, hallo! C: I left Antonio's history pretty open in case anyone wants to develop a backstory. Except for the parts with Portugal, I hope those were okay, Mr. Portugal!
