Name and Number: Afonso Nogueira, number 253
Nation: Portugal
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Year: second year
Birthday: July 26
Team: Blue Team
Personality: He is a loud person who enjoys flirting, especially if the flirting involves cheesy lines. He's the kind of person who is all talk and only gets in a fight if he believes he can actually win (usually by having people backing him up). Tends to be really messy and loves expensive things. Tends to be friendly and likes to be friends with nearly everyone, though he does dislike some people. If asked about one of his skills at something, for example, cooking, he will probably say: "Oh! I have a cousin/parent/sibling/uncle who was a chef" and assume that counts as his skill too. He is easily impressed and loves all the 'new technologies'. Also, has a deep love for football and wine.
History: Afonso was born into an upper mild class family, being quite rebellious ever since he was a toddler. When he was still a child, five years of age, his father found out Afonso's mother had cheated on him and Afonso wasn't really his son. They divorced one another and Afonso's mother got his custody, going to live with him in a much more modest house, but his father still got to see him on weekends and take him for holidays.
Afonso grew to be a rebellious teenager constantly running away from home and caring only about football, ignoring his studies. After Afonso caused much trouble not only for his mother but also his father, Afonso's father decided to send him to a boarding school, easily persuading Afonso's mother by talking about the school's supposed 'great reputation' and 'all the now successful people that attended it previously'. The true nature of the school was hidden from Afonso's mother and Afonso, but as soon as Afonso found out what the school really was for, he was more than glad he was able to attend it.
He has a Spanish distant cousin, Antonio, who always really got on his nerves. Until today he still holds a grudge against him for something he can't even remember, not one big enough to make him want to hurt Antonio, but enough to make him want annoy Antonio as much as he can. He tends to quarrel with Arthur a lot and is usually annoyed by him, but he actually somehow looks up to him and considers him a friend.
School Identity: He spent his first year there poking around everywhere, so he knows the academy really well. He is always at social events and likes to participate in everything, even if he ends up not doing much. He's in the football club and spends most of his free time playing.
Skills: His best skill is playing football, which also means he has fast reflexes and can run pretty fast for a long time. He is also good at other sports. He is really good at fishing and is able to cook cod in an amazing amount of different ways. Also, has an incredible number of relatives who did all sorts of great things, something that counts as a skill for him.
RP Sample: Afonso lazily bit his nails while having profound thoughts on the most important of matters, Ahahah, we totally beat Benfica, and in their stadium none the less. If only Carlos had kicked the ball a little more to the left and scored, their defeat would be even more humiliating. But I shouldn't be complaining, there's no way we are losing the championship now! My team-
"Teams..."
-is really t- Uh? Echo?
"... red and blue..."
Wow! Benfica and Porto?! Are they talking about the game in school? Wow!, straightening himself on the seat, he finally looked to the principal and started paying attention. Soon he realized, though, that they were in fact not discussing football in the meeting, but some new class assignment where they would compete in teams. His joy deflated a little but he was still quite happy at the prospect of competition. Ahahah, white team - who would choose that? No way I'm going for extra studies, he thought, leaning back again and waiting for his number to be called.
"Male United Kingdom. Number 42." Ah! I forgot that stupid betrĂ£o is playing too. It'll be even better to win if he's the adversary!
"I will be joining Team Blue. I look forward to working with you all. Thank you." Eh?! How can... that stupid... absolutely unforgivable for him to choose such a great color! Bah!, he started tapping his foot, distracted by all the British bashing going on inside his head and almost missing his name.
"Portugal. Number 253.", he snapped back to the real world and got up abruptly, marching up to the microphone. He stared at it intently, tapping it twice before grinning and speaking in a loud voice.
"I'll be on Team Blue from now on! Let's all fight towards victory!" Oh well, even though I'll have to spend time with unpleasant people, blue is still the color of my club and therefor the color of my heart!, he thought poetically as his heart silently and joyfully sung Porto's anthem, Ah, this is going to be a great year!
Other: Portugal's name came from the first Portuguese king, D.Afonso Henriques, and one of the most important Portuguese writers, Fernando Nogueira Pessoa. Portugal's somewhat bad relationship with Antonio is obvious (I guess neighbors are always like that...) but I felt like I should also add England there, since even in Portugal's national anthem there used to be a clearly anti-British line. So I ended up borrowing "Male United Kingdom. Number 42." and "I will be joining Team Blue. I look forward to working with you all. Thank you." from England. I hope you don't mind. :x
Also, I don't know much about football, but it's such an important part of the Portuguese culture... I'll guess I'll start watching some games!
