Name and Number: Heracles Karpusi - #1821
Nation: Greece
Gender: Male
Age: 27-29ish. He doesn't like to give out his age.
Role: Librarian (because he loves the knowledge, but, well... he's too lazy to be a teacher, pff.)
Birthday: March 25th
Team: Blue
Personality: At first glance, Heracles is seen as a laid-back man who always has his head in the clouds, and that may very well be true. At any given time, Heracles could be pondering anything from the world around him, the last book he read, or even something as simple as what he'll be wearing tomorrow. Though he may be a bit scatter-brained on the inside, chances are all you'll ever see is a pokerfaced, lazy Greek. He's not terribly prone to lashing out, though when he's provoked enough (or, -ahem- triggered, by certain... 'people'), he won't hesitate to resort to violence. Heracles lands one hell of a suckerpunch, if given a reason to.
Though he might not look it, Heracles is also stubborn and proud, almost to a fault- a quality that more often than not lands him in fights he may not be able to hold his own in. Though he's laid back about most things, he can get quite defensive if people start outright insulting him, the worst ooffense of all being insults towards his mother. After all, Heracles would be the first to tell you that she's where he gets his personality, his strength, and even his looks from, even though there may have been some other factors in his life that shaped him into the man he is today. He'll gladly skip over those details though... he does have his dignity to worry about, of course. That being said, if he sets his sights on you for a fight, you can bet he'll give it all he's got, until you fall or he passes out.
He can be a little hot-headed occasionally, though most of the time you'll spot him lounging in the grass under a shady tree, reading a book on philosophy or stalking about the hedges in a courtyard to see if there are any stray cats hiding around... Heracles is a terrible sucker for cats, especially strays that he could take in and care for. He also has a bit of a soft sopt for the younger kids in the academy. He didn't have the easiest teenage years, so he feels empathetic to their struggles. That also may be the reason why he chose to stay at the academy instead of putting his spy skills right to work.
Also, he's not very ashamed of his sexuality. It's just sort of second nature to him; so much so that he doesn't feel the need to hide or brag about it.
History: From his early childhood to preteen years, Heracles had lived a generally normal life. It was just he and his mother during those early years, as far back as he could remember. He never knew his father, and if mitéra had ever mentioned him, Heracles was apparently too young to remember any names. Though Heracles didn't mind never having a father figure until he was around 13; his mother was as strong and tough as she was caring and kind. All was pretty much ideal until Heracles approached his first teenage years. Heracles doesn't ever speak of this time, though from little tidbits he's spilled here and there, one could gather that his mother disappeared. Rumors float around every now and then that she died, that she was murdered... even some saying she just up and abandoned her son. Heracles is quick to dismiss anything when he hears people talking about his past, because he himself never found out what happened to her. All he knows is she was proclaimed dead but someone official- 13-year-old Heracles couldn't make sense of wo was who back then.
After the mysterious disappearance of his mother, Heracles's history seems to be a blackout. He allegedly was taken away from his home country, taken in by someone else for a good few years; until he was 17 at least, when he ran away from home, and even that's just speculation. Heracles keeps this area of his past under lock and key in his mind, and if you were ask him about it, he'd meet you with a face as blank as he always is, but with a touch of something a bit more... frustrated? Maybe even grim. Who knows.
Either way, along that time he'd somehow accomplished enrolling and completing his schooling at the Academy, all while still keeping his living conditions in the dark. Maybe the rumors of him having mentors in high places isn't so untrue...
School Identity: Heracles had at one time been a student of the Academy, though since he's graduated and taken up a job as a librarian at the school. He had toyed with the idea of applying for a teaching position, though he figured it would be much too tiring. Helping students find their books sounded like a job that held much more promise of free time. He's definitely not above the current students though, in his opinion. Though he's coming up on his thirties, he still likes chatting with the Blue students about their studies, and he's always open to giving advice whenever he's asked; everything from the best way to make an enemy's disguise slip up to the best way to ask that pretty girl you like out on a date. He's also a good go-to staff member for help on 'missions' or whatever fun stuff the higher faculty have cooked up for the students. After all, he'll wear the Blue proudly until the day he dies.
Skills: One of his qualities, espionage-wise, would be his ability to look unassuming. With his light, neutral wardrobe, Heracles isn't one that sticks out in a crowd.
RP Sample:
Another school year approaching... was the summer already nearly gone? Seemed like just a few weeks ago that the trees were green and flowers were in full bloom, shining through spring and getting realy for summer. Heracles liked that time, the spring and summer. Reminded him of when mitéra would lay with him under a tree and tell him old stories. But let alone the memories of that time long past, Heracles was already slipping into an uncomfortable nostalgic feeling of a time more than a decade ago, when he was a freshman at the Academy.
Heracles had jitters. He wasn't the type to feel lost in emotion, but at fifteen years old- just two years past his mother's sudden disappearance- the Greek was feeling, well. A
Once he'd made that decision, everything seemed a bit calmer. He stood in the line with the rest of the students- hands still shaking just a bit, but thankfully he wasn't standing as rigid as he was when he was escorted through the big doors of the Academy. He took in a deep breath when it was nearly his turn, and he did his best to make mitéra proud when he looked up at the Principal to confidently (key word) state his color and number, "1821... blue, parakaló." and when it was all said and done, everything Heracles was worried about seemed to lift off his shoulders. It was a boarding school, right? At least he'd get time away from 'home'.
Crazy, thinking about that now. Heracles sighed and closed whatever book was sitting open on the table in front of him, more there to make him look busy to the other teachers who were hustling and bustling about trying to get everything in order for the new year. He stood up and stretched, mumbling something about having to finally get to filing those returned books he never got a chance to put away from last year.
Other: Well, Hera is a character that has/can have a lot of potential ties to other characters (Turkey and Mama Greece, prominently) so when/if we get any characters that I may have namedropped or alluded to in his history, I'd love to discuss exactly how their relationships are with my Hera! <3
ALSO I AM SO SORRY FOR RAMBLING. ;n; This AU is so cool, I got carried away. I hope it's alright to assume that Heracles could have been a student that graduated and then took a staff role. I couldn't find anything in the setting that said if the Academy was new or old or what. If there's anything that needs to be re-done or anything confusing, like continuity errors or whatever, let me know! I'm sick and kind of dizzy on cold medicine right now. xD But I've got some back-up ideas for his history and such if he needs to be redone. <3
