Hello, everyone! I'm Mei, your resident Taiwan roleplayer! I also play fem!Japan on here.
I was born in Taiwan, and I moved to the States when I was six. I moved back to Taiwan last summer, and I am currently in freshman year at a Taiwanese high school (which, by the way, is the equivalent of sophmore year at American high schools). I know Mattie in real life. I'm fairly new to roleplaying - I began a little less than a year ago, and have only played Taiwan on one roleplay before this one.
I'm fairly fluent in both English and Madarin Chinese - at least, back in the States I was. These days, I find my English deteriorating as my Chinese improves, so I apologize if there are any grammar mistakes in my posts. If you notice one, just tell me and I'll fix it as soon as possible. I know a little bit of French, but there's not much left of it now since I abandoned it in favor of Japanese when I chose my language course this semester. I enjoy learning new languages, so if anyone here is willing to teach, I'm all for it.
In the fine arts department...I play the piano and the flute, but haven't really kept up with either instruments since the move to Taiwan. I also have an ocarina that I play occasionally. I'm not a very good artist - I express myself better with words than with drawings. I love writing fanfiction, and if anyone is interested, my works are posted under the pen name "Siruba Tsubasa" on Fanfiction.net.
Pet peeves...well, I hate bending the spine on books. Basically, I hate it when my books are in any condition other than 'perfect'. In addition to that, I'm the type of person that will erase entire paragraphs because the writing isn't straight enough (you know, how sometimes the writing tilts up when you aren't using lined paper? I can't stand it.).
What other fandoms do I like? Let's see here...
Detective Conan, Vampire Knight, Kuroshitsuji, Nabari no Ou, Magic Kaito, D.Gray-man, Record of Fallen Vampire, DNAngel, Bakugan Battle Brawlers (the original series), Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, Shounen Onmyouji, §^©RÃM¤h/Legend of Sun Knight, and ¯S®í¶Ç»¡. The last three are light novel series that have manga adaptations, or in the case of Shounen Onmyouji, an anime one as well. I grew up watching Cardcaptor Sakura, Ojamajou DoReMi, and Chibi Maruko-chan, so I love those as well.
Favorite Hetalia Pairings...Well, I love USUK the best. I think Japan X Taiwan is cute, and I can't stand FrUK unless it's part of FACE. Other than that, I can pretty much deal with anything unless it's incest, but there are exceptions to that as well.
It's probably won't be easy catching me online, since I live all the way across the Pacific Ocean. If you absolutely must talk to me, Friday and Saturday nights for the States is probably your best bet, or you can just send me a PM.
I might go one unannounced hiatus from time to time, usually around midterms and finals. If I don't post anything for two weeks at a time, don't worry, I'm still alive, just buried under a pile a textbooksnot that that's any better.
