Breathing a small sigh of relief at Braam's acceptance of his gift, Kiku felt a little more at ease with his roommate. The tulips were lovely, too - he noted, as he looked down at the vibrant blossoms. His roommate seemed like a kind person. Thank goodness.
When presented with the question about painting the wall, Kiku could only blink for a few seconds. He knew who Van Gogh was - Starry Night was ubiquitous in art classes - but Cezanne slipped him. Either way...painting the wall was most likely against school regulations and probably counted towards 'vandalism'. Though, Kiku had to agree that the starkly white wall was boring on every account possible.
"Ah...I'm...fairly certain that painting the walls would be against school rules...N-Not to say that it wouldn't be a good thing to decorate the walls!" Kiku waved the hand not holding the tulips in concern, "I just...I wouldn't want you to get into trouble or anything..."

Braam shrugged and sat down on the bed, “alright then. No repainting this year.” He opened up one of the boxes sitting next to him trying to determine what was packed in it. This one contained clothes for the most part, which he really didn’t feel like unpacking but knew he would have to if he wanted to get any unpacking done. Picking out a stack of soccer jerseys, he sighed, remembering back when the sport used to be fun for him. Picking up the stack he walked to the dressers nearest to his bed and carefully set them inside. Shaking his head briefly he looked over at Kiku, “did we want to have a printer or TV in the room?”

((I'm so, so sorry that this is late! I've been busy with AP testing. ; ) Kiku nodded slightly as Braam decided against painting the walls. He didn't mind adding some color to the starkly white of the room, but...school policy most likely dictated against it. As Braam started to unpack his belongings, Kiku decided that perhaps he ought to do the same. He stood up and looked for a place to put the tulips, before deciding on setting them on the desk. Kiku unzipped his first suitcase full of the typical things - clothing and the like. The books and figures were packed safely away in the other bag, and they could wait. As Kiku started to hang up a few jackets, Braam asked about a printer or television. "Um....a printer would be nice - we could print things out without having to run to campus. As for the television, I suppose that's up to you," Kiku nodded once after speaking. He already had a portable DVD player anyway, which would suffice for all his anime needs.

((No worries, I hope you did well on them. ^_^))
Nodding, the Dutchman pulled out his clothes and set them on the bed. “I’ll go into town this weekend and get them then. Anything else you think you need right now?” He set the empty box aside and picked up another one. After he put away the first round of clothes, he opened the next box full of school supplies and mementos from home. Setting that box aside he hunted around for the next one full of clothing.
